Young Trust members wanted for six-a-side charity match

The AFC Wimbledon Foundation is seeking Trust members aged 16-19 to take part in a charity football tournament on Saturday 21 October, before the Plymouth match.

At the match, the Foundation is hosting a group of young refugees who live in south-west London to and is putting together a six-a-side tournament for them as part of their day.

If you are aged 16-19 and fancy a match of your own before the first team takes on Plymouth, you can be part of giving the group a great welcome to AFC Wimbledon.

Players of all abilities can take part and will just need to bring their own kit. The game will be played on the Astroturf pitches at Kingsmeadow from 1.30pm-2.30pm.

The AFC Wimbledon Foundation is hosting the refugee group in partnership with CARAS (Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers), a community outreach charity based in Tooting. CARAS supports refugees and asylum seekers who live in south-west London, helping them develop their English skills, access services, build social networks and generally feel welcomed by the community.

If you’d like to take part, please contact Philip Rudling, Foundation Director, as soon as possible on philip.rudling@afcwimbledonfoundation.org.uk
