A master class from George Francomb

George Francomb’s crossing ability has created plenty of Wimbledon goals this season, and a demonstration in the art of being a winger is highlighted in our latest master class video.

As part of a wider initiative to engage with our young and teenage fans, Jane Lonsdale, on behalf of the Dons Trust, has been working with the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, coaching staff and the club to produce footballing master class videos.

You can view George’s video, which includes footage from the training ground and match action, on AFC Wimbledon TV on YouTube.

Following his Young Player of the Year award last year, George has continued to impress on the right side of the field and many of top scorer Bayo Akinfenwa’s goals have been created by the winger.

There has been a slight delay since the last video due to the club’s hectic game schedule during February. Our previous master class videos focused on tackling with captain Barry Fuller and goalkeeping with James Shea.

All of our videos in the series show a first-team player demonstrating a skill or technique and passing on tips for young players learning the game. Then it will show the skill/technique being used during an actual match.

Keep an eye out for the next video that will feature Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The Dons Trust wishes to thank Neal Ardley, the coaching staff and players, video analyst Steve Mayhew, and club volunteers for their time in producing these videos for our younger fans. We hope you enjoy them.
