Countdown to third Minithon event

With just over a month until the AFC Wimbledon Minithon, familiar faces from the club are getting in shape to complete the challenge — and you can now sponsor their efforts.

The 5km fun run is back after a three-year gap, and the event on Sunday 18 October (12 noon start), at Morden Park, promises to be a great club effort.

As part of this, Chief Executive Erik Samuelson has been jogging and walking several times a week and he will be joined on the starting line by Neal Ardley and his backroom team. Haydon the Womble will also be swapping Wimbledon Common for Morden Park on the Sunday morning to aid the cause.

Gift aid will be collected retrospectively.

Academy coaches, players and some of the boys’ parents will also be running too. Information about academy runners and how to sponsor them is available. Please email sarah.skinner@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk.

You can run, walk or jog to show your support for the club — see the Minithon page for full details.

The Dons Trust fundraising group are raising funds for AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s community projects and The Academy as it strives to bring through more ‘home-grown and hungry’ players.

It is an event that will once again be supported very generously by Terry’s Badges, who will provide ‘AFCW Minithon 3’ badges for all participants.

We want this to be a big event for the club and as part of this we need volunteers to hand out leaflets at upcoming home games and help on the day of the event from 9.00am. Email minithon@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk if you can help. Please also use this email address if you have any queries about the event.
