Short Notice Dons Trust Board Meeting 4th August Summary

In the days following Angus Fox election as Chair of the Dons Trust at the July Board Meeting (Minutes to be published following the full August Board meeting) after conversations with George Jones (Assistant Secretary) it was agreed to call a short notice board meeting to set the tone for the months ahead. This process complied with rules 65 and 67 of our constitution.

At the start of the meeting the board ratified the decision taken over email to elect James Macdonald as the new vice chair of the Dons Trust.
High Level Comms Plan
A discussion took place surrounding comms over the coming months and Dons Trust visibility at club events. It was agreed to publish a calendar containing key upcoming events. Angus emphasised that the board had to be visible and engaging to ensure that the board is approachable and accountable to the membership.  Later in the meeting it was agreed that Kevin Rye will now run the DT social media accounts and take lead on ProBoards.
Angus also emphasised how important it is for the board to be proactive over the coming months.
Theme Group Projects, Ownership and Tracking

Angus said that it is vital that the groups stay on top of their various projects and track them over the coming months and used a recent report from an Engagement theme group meeting as a positive example of this.

Dons Trust Promotional Activities at Plough Lane
Richard is taking lead on this and the process of getting a new kiosk and new promotional materials has begun.
Website, Memberships and Season Tickets
An update was given on this and a discussion took place on DT presence on the new club website.
Recently Asked Questions
It was confirmed that a ‘recently asked questions’ article answering a lot of the unanswered questions on ProBoards will be published before the end of the week, after the project fell behind due to the recent board changes.
Recruitment of new PLC Chair
James Macdonald will be taking lead on this but the whole board will be involved. Angus emphasised it is vital that the processes is done smoothly but we must make fast progress.
Single Use Plastics
A preliminary discussion took place on the club banning single use plastics and further discussion will take place at the full August Board Meeting.

Kevin said he hopes the board will be in a position to publish a summary of results from the recent membership survey by the end of the week.

Further discussion took place on which board members should replace Michele on the boards of various charities. It was agreed to carry over the discussion until the full August meeting.
