Fair Game Index Gold Award

AFC Wimbledon and the Dons Trust are delighted to have received a Gold Award in the Fair Game Index published today. The club is also one of only five in the English leagues judged ‘Regulator Ready’.

“This award is a testament to the hard work of club staff, our club board and the Dons Trust, the majority owners of AFC Wimbledon,” said Angus Fox, Chair of the Dons Trust. “We know that fan-owned clubs are the most reflective of our supporters and the most sustainable. The Fair Game Index and our place on it are proof of concept for our way of running a club.”

“The Football Regulator is an important step forward for football in the UK. They will ensure fairer financial flow up and down the pyramid and help to protect clubs from unscrupulous owners. AFC Wimbledon and the Dons Trust have been campaigning hard for the regulator and we are delighted to see it being established.”

“A new regulator means a bit more bureaucracy, but it is the sort of paperwork that makes sense – ensuring that clubs are living within their means and have a good relationship with their fans. At AFC Wimbledon we are already doing most, if not all, of the work that will be required by the regulator and this is reflected in our score and Gold Award.”
