Dons Trust Election 2025 Results

The Dons Trust Election Steering Group can confirm the following outcomes from the 2025 Dons Trust Election.
The turnout of 1660 is the second highest number of votes cast in Dons Trust Election history behind last year’s total. The percentage is 23%.
Ian Hicks withdrew from the election after voting was opened so is not included in the final voting tallies.  Despite the resignation of Ian Robinson from the Dons Trust Board mid election there remained 5 vacancies.

The number of votes for each candidate were as follows:

Alex Folkes: 890
Sam Spencer:  701
James Ledward: 756
Martin Drake: 932
Chris Atkinson: 991
Simon Hood: 839
I therefore declare that the following candidates have been elected and will be eligible to serve for the following term lengths:
Chris Atkinson – 3 years
Martin Drake – 3 years
Alex Folkes – 3 years
Simon Hood – 2 years
James Ledward – 2 years.
Successful candidates will now undertake the applicable regulatory tests and sign the relevant agreements before being appointed to the board at the conclusion of the DT AGM in December.
On behalf of the ESG, I would like to thank all of the candidates for putting themselves forward, all of the members who voted, posted questions on Discord or engaged with the hustings. I would like to place a special thanks to Graham Stacey and Jude Turner for putting together the hustings. I would also like to thank the rest of the ESG – Julian Edwards, Tim Hillyer and Gary Davis – as well as our independent scrutineer Neil Springate and the Dons Trust Secretary George Jones for their support during the election process.
