Trust’s social media platform set for launch

Dons Trust Board member Jane Lonsdale gives an update on the work she has been doing on behalf of the Board and Trust to enable members to be more involved, be more informed and be heard as part of the wider member engagement project.

As you may be aware, for a number of years now the Dons Trust Board has been looking for ways to add value to Trust membership. With support from David Growns and a project working team, I have been working on an exclusive Trust members-only social media tool called the Trust Webjam.

What is the Dons Trust Webjam?

The Trust Webjam will enable Trust members to be involved, be informed and be heard. It facilitates engagement onlin
e with the Board, enabling information to be shared and views expressed. Discussions and polls will take place, all in a secure, exclusive members-only space. It will also give the Board a closer understanding of what our members, the owners of AFC Wimbledon, want.

The final trial stage is currently under way. Assuming all goes well with the pilot, invitations will start to be sent to all Trust members at the end of August. These will go out in batches, and all members for whom we have an email address on our membership database should receive an invitation by the end of September.

All members should have received an email from the Dons Trust on 14 July with the subject line “Be involved, be informed and be heard!” This email contained information for members and included a link to the Acceptable Use Policy that we are asking all members to adhere to when using the Trust Webjam.

What do I need to do?

Right now, nothing. But keep watching your inbox for the invitation email and more information on how to register for the site. If you have not received anything by Monday 19 September, please contact webmaster@thedonstrust.org.

What if I am not a member?

The Trust Webjam is a members- only forum, so non-members will not be invited. But if you would like to get involved in the running of your football club, you can find information on how to join the Dons Trust.

How can I find out more?

The Webjam launch will be part of the agenda at the Dons Trust SGM on Thursday 25 August, and explanatory sessions on using the online services will be held in early September in Wimbledon and at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. Those dates will be announced on the Dons Trust website and on the AFC Wimbledon official website in the near future, so please look out for those announcements and come along to the sessions to find out more.
