The club has put the following message on its website for fans who live in Merton and Wandsworth.
On Wednesday 27 July Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, launched a 14 day consultation in relation to the club’s planning application for a new stadium in Wimbledon.
The Mayor has asked for feedback on his proposal to reverse the previous Mayor’s decision to call in the application. We do not wish to overwhelm the Mayor with thousands of responses, but we believe that it would be helpful if local residents made it clear that they continue to support the application.
Therefore we are calling upon fans who are residents of Merton and Wandsworth to email the Mayor at the following address planningadmin@london.gov.uk and make the following points:
- You are a local resident
- You consider the previous Mayor’s decision to call in the application was not justified and contrary to the advice of his officials
- You support the proposal to return the application to Merton
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 10 August. We wish to make clear that those who have already written to the Mayor via the Bring The Dons Home website should not do so again.
