Update on the Trust Webjam

The Trust Webjam was successfully launched to selected Dons Trust members (the ‘early adopters’) on August 16. Those early adopters are now using, trialling and testing the site for a two-week period.

We will then review progress with the aim of inviting all intermediate and adult Trust members to join the site starting in the week of September 5.

When will you be invited to join and what should you do?

Invitations will go out in batches to the email address we have on our membership database. Your invitation to join will come from webmaster@thedonstrust.org.

All intermediate and adult members should have received an invitation to join the site by the end of September. Please keep an eye on this website and the AFC Wimbledon official website in case plans change.Trust Webjam logo

Before joining please review the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that we are asking all members to follow when using the site; and please when joining the site follow the User Registration Guide. Joining the site is a bit different to other social media sites you may be members of so please do follow the guide to avoid any problems.

The Acceptable Use Policy will help the site to be as pleasant, inclusive and transparent as possible – something the Board and test users were keen to implement. We are therefore asking that when registering you use your first name and surname as your username, for example ‘JaneLonsdale’.

Webjam taster sessions

As a reminder, The Trust Webjam facilitates engagement online with the Trust Board, where information can be shared, and views expressed. Discussions and polls will take place, all in a secure, exclusive members-only space. It will also give the Board a closer understanding of what our members – the owners of AFC Wimbledon – want.

Further information on the The Trust Webjam will be outlined at the Dons Trust SGM on August 25.

To help people joining the site and provide further information we are hosting two additional explanatory sessions as follows:

  • Thursday, September 1 at 7.45pm in The Mansel Road Centre (behind Trinity United Reformed Church), Mansel Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 4AA
  • Thursday, September 7 at 7.45pm the back bar at The Cherry Red Records Stadium.

These taster sessions are provided for those who would like to see the site, understand more about its purpose and working, and to provide help to anyone who would like to see how to register.

If you have received your invitation by September 7 and need help to register, please bring along a wifi-enabled laptop with access to your email and we can help you.

We will also be hosting a help session at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday, September 21. Please hold the date and we will provide further information as the roll out progresses.

Separately, Trust Board members David Growns and Jane Lonsdale will be available in the Dons Trust kiosk at The Cherry Red Records Stadium (by the car park gate) at home games and will have a PC with the site running for those who wish to see more or need some support.

We hope you enjoy using the site and engaging with other members and board members. So be involved, be informed and be heard!
