Our visit to Bradford City tomorrow (4 May) coincides with their annual memorial fixture for the 56 supporters who died in the 1985 Valley Parade fire disaster.
A minute’s silence will be held before kick-off to remember those who sadly passed away almost 34 years ago.
Earlier in the day, the Dons Trust will on behalf of our club join Bradford City to lay a wreath at a memorial outside the ground.
As well as those who died, more than 250 supporters were injured, with many requiring extensive treatment afterwards.
The University of Bradford’s Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit is regarded by many as a “living memorial”. They will have volunteers from various Bradford City supporter groups out collecting before the match.
We urge all AFC Wimbledon fans to give as generously as they can.
