Happy Birthday to us!

The Dons Trust celebrates its 18th anniversary today, and we want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved along the way; whether as a DT member or as a volunteer or serving on the DTB – and everything in between.
We caught up with DT founding Chair, Lou Carton-Kelly, who recalled how it all started 18 years ago:
‘When we created the Dons Trust we set out to be fan-owned directly because of what had gone before, and to protect the club and its fans from ever having to go through that again. Now, 18 years later, fan ownership is as relevant as it ever was. It was only in the last few months that control of the club was under threat and look at how the fans have responded – raising millions of pounds in a matter of weeks to protect the very ethos of what we are about. From humble beginnings, fans and members can be proud of what we have achieved and, of course, there is plenty more to come – not least going back home to Plough Lane.’
Current DT chair Mark Davis added:
‘As we enter our 19th year, these are exciting times for the Dons Trust – with the club playing League 1 football and moving into a new stadium. Sometimes you have to just take a breath and look back at what has been achieved here by the fans – it’s an incredible story and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next 18 years.’
Here’s to another 18 years and beyond.
