Further to the stadium announcement on 28 May, The Dons Trust have produced a FAQ document seeking to answer your questions about our new minority investor and how the share sale affects ownership and control of AFC Wimbledon.
In short, Nick Robertson has purchased 10% of AFCW PLC and 10% of the votes in AFCW PLC. The Dons Trust remains in control with more than 75% of the voting rights. The money raised by the share sale – alongside the money raised by the Plough Lane Bond and Seedrs crowdfunding – has meant that The Dons Trust has been able to sign a construction contract with Buckingham to complete the build of our new home in Plough Lane.
However, The Dons Trust understands that not every fan or member will be familiar with some of the terms used when announcing the deal and we have sought to make every element as clear and transparent as possible in the new FAQ document.
While we have tried to collate and answer as many fan questions as possible, there will no doubt be some we have missed, or further questions you would like to ask. As such, and in the absence of a more conventional SGM, The Dons Trust Board would like to take the opportunity to engage with members at a live online meeting next week – Tuesday June 9 at 7.30pm.
On the evening, Board Members will be able to share more about the exciting stadium news and our return home.
There will also be an opportunity for members to ask the Board, and AFC Wimbledon CEO Joe Palmer, questions directly – whether about the stadium build, how we’re financing it, the latest with the EFL on the 2019/20 season or how the club is managing COVID-19.
To enable the meeting to cover as many questions as possible, we are asking for questions to be submitted in advance – to do that please email contact@thedonstrust.org and we will do our best to answer as many as possible on the night.
We will be hosting the meeting via Zoom (previously advertised as Teams). Registration is via Eventbrite. We will send details about how to join nearer the time.
