The Dons Trust AFC Wimbledon Club OwnersBoard meeting report 12/07/23

The latest Dons Trust board meeting was at Plough Lane on Wednesday evening, 12 July. Mark Lewis let us know beforehand that he’d be on holiday and so not able to join us, but everyone else was there.

We signed off the minutes for June for publication and they are now up on the website https://thedonstrust.org/dtb-minutes/

Dons Trust and Plough Lane Bonds

Michele Little and Kris Stewart reported that the survey on options for repayment/rolling over/exchange etc had been sent to holders of the original Dons Trust Bonds and will be going out to the first group of Plough Lane Bond holders soon.

Consultation

Kevin Rye, Graeme Price and Michele updated the board on the consultation exercise being undertaken, with the first event taking place on Thursday 13 July.

Strategy

There’s ongoing work being done, alongside the PLC board, to refresh our strategy. We talked about that work and the need to share it in good time before the annual members’ meeting in December.

Meet the DTB

The Meet the DTB session with Richard Shepherd and Kris went well on Monday 10 July. We will continue with them, the next one being in August (keep an eye out for details). Kris remarked that it was good to have participants engaging verbally in the session, as well as with written questions. Video of the session is now available: https://thedonstrust.org/2023/07/17/meet-the-dons-trust-board-10-07-23

Member services & engagement

James Macdonald reported that there has been a good response to the call for younger members to form an advisory group.

Kris updated the board on the DT membership transfer to Secutix.

PLC Board

We discussed some issues which have been referred to us for DTB decision.

The Big Step – campaign against gambling advertising in football

The charity contacted us to ask for the our support for the campaign. We agree with the purpose and the Culture & Mission group will survey members soon.

DT board recruitment

Chris Philips will be working with Kris on this.
