The Dons Trust and AFC Wimbledon boards recognise that Trust members and AFC Wimbledon fans have many questions they want to ask, following the paper regarding the financing of the new stadium released to Dons Trust members on Monday.
The boards wish to be as open as we can with members regarding the current situation and the options open to us. However, responding separately to each and every question members and fans send in is a difficult logistical exercise.
We are therefore grateful to a number of supporters who have sent an open letter setting out a list of 50 questions that they would like to be answered. This is an excellent list of questions and we intend to answer them as fully as we reasonably can over the coming days, and ahead of the 9 December Dons Trust Special General Meeting.
We would remind Dons Trust members that the purpose of the 9 December SGM is to bring members up to date with the situation and to discuss the options available to us. There will be no formal vote on the stadium issues on 9 December.
For those of you who aren’t Trust members, we encourage all fans to join and make their opinions heard. You can join the Trust here.
Bringing in outside investors will mean ceding control.
Find another club to invest in the stadium and ground share with, while keeping control. In a few years, review the deal.
Brentford FC have a deal like this with London Irish RFC as do Wigan, Bristol City and Huddersfield football clubs. It seems to work for them.
Hi,
Just some ideas on our funding deficit.
1. Would any TV companies be interested in documenting/serialising the trials & tribulations on building the new community stadium?
2. Could we get the shell & fit it out ourselves?
Ground force special, IKEA etc.
3. Would any companies pay for the additional 3 stands for a return on the revenue they make. We give them a percentage of income generated from gate receipts in that stand only & they fit out/run the concessions on the concourse & get the income.
