Edward Leek has been appointed as a board member of The Dons Trust (DTB). He fills what’s known as a ‘casual vacancy’, created by the departure of former Chair Kris Stewart, who was asked by AFCW PLC to step into a role to temporarily oversee stadium and club operations as AFC Wimbledon seeks a new Managing Director.
The appointment, permitted under the constitution (Rule 62 concerning ‘casual vacancies’), enables the trust to operate up to and including the scheduled elections in December. He will stand down following these elections.
Edward is a former board member, having served between 2019 and 2021
New Chair, Michele Little, commented:
“We are pleased to swiftly fill the vacancy so that the board can continue to operate and carry out its usual functions through to the end of the year.
“We are also very cognisant that Edward was on the board during a very difficult period in our recent history. We have agreed that the continued operation of the trust is vital, and that this temporary appointment satisfies this requirement.”
