We are delighted to announce that after a lot of work from the secretariat, the board and the club (special thanks to Bal Srai at the club), we have managed to secure the 1889 Lounge (formerly the Silver Lounge) to host the members called SGM on Monday 16th September.
We also must thank the originally booking holder Merton Council for being so flexible and accommodating to allow us to secure the room
We have also included a clarification in the board’s our response to Resolution Three. The amended wording has been issued at the request of the Football Supporters Association (FSA) below, and is in italics.
Our response to Resolution 3
The majority of the board is against this proposal. The FSA confirmed that the Dons Trust current operation of viewing all motions submitted by members as requiring two thirds pass rate was correct and that there was nothing in the act stopping members from removing the higher threshold but urged all parties to consider the effect that this may have on decision making going forwards. It is worth noting here that any changes to the constitution require a 2/3s majority anyway regardless of whether they are board or member proposed.
In addition, the FSA has also requested that it is made clear throughout the discussions between itself, the trust, and the members bringing the resolutions that it was not their place to make actual recommendations or speak on motions, merely to provide technical advice on whether they were consistent with the act and any process which would need to be followed should changes be made.
