The Dons Trust AFC Wimbledon Club OwnersDons Trust Programme notes – Harrogate 29/10/22

The Dons Trust board would like to thank everyone who has so far engaged with us and fellow members on the proposed changes which we ran through at the recent members’ meeting here.

The details were sent to members by email or post and there’s a quick summary on the Dons Trust website https://thedonstrust.org/files/Oversight-and-ops-November-2022.pdf . All the documents are available in the papers for the 13 October SGM here https://thedonstrust.org/general-meetings/

Those who came along asked some good questions and made some interesting points on the night, and there’s been a lively discussion on ProBoards https://donstrust.boards.net/ since. We’ve also had the “temperature test” quick survey, with many hundreds responding, and emails with more ideas and thoughts for us to consider.

Tomorrow we will be launching an “FAQs” (it won’t only have frequently asked questions in it, but also points and suggestions people have made) on the Dons Trust website, and we will be updating that with more answers / responses and more questions and ideas as we go.

Here’s what else we have done and are doing, to consult further with members:

We’ve already opened a new section on ProBoards where members can contribute to discussions on the proposals.

On Wednesday 2 November, 20:00 – 21:30 there will be a Zoom event for members, with the DT board represented and joining in the discussion. Keep an eye out on your email for details of how to join.

On Monday 7 November, 18:30 – 20:00 there’ll be another Zoom event for members.*

We are planning a “drop-in” at The Phoenix here at the stadium, with board members and other experts on hand to discuss the issues with members – just waiting to confirm a date.

We will need to finalise papers in late November, to get them out to everyone in time for the Annual General Meeting in December. Before we do that, as well as the above, we’ll also be asking members to respond to more detailed surveys. And we’re hoping to nail a “Twitter Spaces” event as well, if we can work out how to make it happen (and if you’re an expert, give me a shout! kris.stewart@thedonstrust.org

In other DT news – I hope all members have spotted the new “What’s happening around the Dons Trust board” newsletter which arrived in your email inboxes earlier this month – if not do have a look on the website https://thedonstrust.org/2022/10/21/dons-trust-newsletter-launches/ ,

And above all, don’t forget, the deadline for nominations for this year’s Dons Trust board election is 23:59 tonight, Saturday, 29 October. So there’s still time to get your papers in, but you need to crack on. For more details, have a look here: https://thedonstrust.org/elections/2022-election/ . We have seven places up for election this year, and it would be great to have a lively, contested election with candidates from all parts of the membership.
