New stadium: Your questions answered

As promised, we have endeavored to answer the questions posted to us in an Open Letter from fans following the release of last week’s Dons Trust statement.

Some of the questions have been amalgamated in order to avoid unnecessary repetition – and some cannot be answered as fully as we would like at this stage. We have made it clear where this is the case.

We have attempted to be as full, frank and forthright as possible. It must be..

Dons Trust SGMStadium questions

The Dons Trust and AFC Wimbledon boards recognise that Trust members and AFC Wimbledon fans have many questions they want to ask, following the paper regarding the financing of the new stadium released to Dons Trust members on Monday.

The boards wish to be as open as we can with members regarding the current situation and the options open to us. However, responding separately to each and every question members and fans send in is a difficult logistical exercise.

Dons Trust board member Rob Crane has resigned with immediate effect.

He explained: “I was elected to the board last year and it’s been a real privilege to in that time do my best to represent the views of our members.

“I should pay tribute to an immense amount of hard work done by so..

It’s more than about the 90 minutes

When we get together with our mates and reminisce about games we saw many years ago, some of the best memories are of what happened before and after the game. And now, says Dons Trust Board member Luke Mackenzie, there is a new comms platform you can use to help shape your total matchday experience at the new stadium.

I’d like to start by saying hello and welcome to those who are representing Gillingham FC today. One of the duties..

Making comms better

It’s coming up for a year since Rob Crane was elected to the Dons Trust Board, with a pledge to improve the Trust’s communications. So, he asks, what’s changed since then?

In April we sent our first monthly email newsletter to Dons Trust members. These newsletters aim to make members aware of news stories on the Trust website that they might otherwise have missed. They’re also useful for promoting upcoming events, such as the recent Foodbank collection. We send these..

September’s board meeting minutes

The minutes of September’s board meeting aren’t yet online. Our volunteer minute taker was slightly delayed producing the draft, and then October’s board meeting – which should have approved them – was brought forward a week to avoid half-term absences.

The draft minutes are currently with board members and will be approved at our November board meeting.

In the meantime, members can read a summary of the meeting on the Trust Webjam.
